Garfield Park South

The Family-Friendly neighborhood of Garfield Park obviously draws its name for Indy's oldest park. The park itself is 128 acres near the Southside of Indianapolis. Garfield parks contains the Conservatory, which grows hundreds of species of tropical plants and remains open year-round holds an indoor 15-foot waterfall. Garfield Park also holds the European Sunken Gardens which contain three fountains and brick walkways and are replanted three times per year. Both the conservatory and gardens are open seven days a week.

This classic and outdoorsy neighborhood is just south of Fountain Square. You can easily access the Pleasant Run Trail and Indianapolis Cultural Trail here. There are numerous outdoor amenities as well as indoor events and activities including concerts, flower shows, performances and fitness activities.

There are great local restaurants and businesses in the neighborhood, including Parkside Public House, Barringer's Tavern, Shelby Street Saloon andSkosh. And it's only a 10 minute drive from downtown Indy with Madison Avenue as the main route.
